Who is responsible

The owner of Blue Cove, at Rua Maria Antónia, lote 181, Pestana Porto Covo Village, 7520-450 Porto Covo, Portugal, decides how the information on this page is used and is the data controller for it.

To ask anything about your data, or to make any of the requests described below, message +351 921 462 815 on WhatsApp or write in the message box on the enquiry form. Either reaches the same person.

What we collect when you enquire

The enquiry form asks for exactly what is needed to answer you and hold the dates:

• your name
• your email address
• your phone number, if you give one
• your country, if you give one
• the dates you want and how many people are coming
• anything you write in the message box

That record is stored on our own server and is also emailed to the owner so an enquiry is not missed. It is not sold, rented, or shared with any listing site or advertiser.

What we collect when you just read

Nothing, unless you agree to it. Analytics are switched off by default: the site loads with Google Analytics denied permission to store anything, and only starts measuring if you press Accept on the cookie banner. Press Decline, or ignore it, and no analytics data is collected at all.

If you do accept, Google Analytics records anonymous, aggregated information about which pages are read and which links are followed. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Two small technical cookies exist and neither is used for tracking: one signs you in to the guest area if you are a guest, and one signs the owner in to the admin area. A note of your cookie choice is stored in your own browser so you are not asked again.

We take no payments on this site

There is no checkout here, no card form, and no payment processor. Nothing on this site ever asks for card details, and if a page ever appears to, it is not ours. Payment for a stay is arranged directly with the owner after the dates are agreed.

Who else touches it

As few as possible, and each for one job:

• Resend, which delivers the email telling the owner about your enquiry and the confirmation sent back to you.
• Our hosting provider, which runs the server the site and the enquiry record sit on, located in Germany.
• Google Analytics, only if you accepted the cookie banner.
• WhatsApp, if you choose to message that way. That conversation happens on Meta’s service and under Meta’s terms, not ours.

How long we keep it

An enquiry that does not turn into a stay is kept only while it is still live and is deleted on request at any time. Records of stays that did happen are kept for as long as Portuguese accounting and accommodation law requires, and then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it to you in a portable form, or object to a particular use. You can withdraw consent to analytics whenever you like, and doing so costs you nothing on this site.

Ask through either contact route above. There is no form to fill in and no fee.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.

Changes to this policy

If what we do with data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not run one.
